JustUnfollow - the scene till now
I made JustUnfollow in a very short time. It was just meant to be a learning project for me. I wanted to learn how to develop and host a website on Google App Engine.
I liked what I had developed and so thought of sending across a tip to TechCrunch. I had no idea what was in store for me. Michael Arrington happened to check out JustUnfollow and since I hadn't made JustUnfollow to support users with a huge number of followers, it showed a few false positives. @Arrington shot across an email to me ( yes, Arrington himself!) and informed me about the bug. My joy knew no bounds when I received that email and thanked him for the same. I also received an email from Robin Wauters of TechCrunch. While I was trying to digest the fact that Arrington himself sent me an email (trust me, it's kind of a big deal!) I realized he had posted a short post about the bug he found in my app! And that short post is where it all started pouring users for JustUnfollow. It's been 2 months since I launched JustUnfollow and as of now, JustUnfollow has 15000+ registered users. I'm getting 5000+ page views everyday. I'm thinking of ways to monetize and in the next post I'll discuss one of the monetization ideas I've been working on. Of course, it's nothing new or path breaking, but it suits JustUnfollow and its user base.
